Frozen Hot Chocolate with Matcha Cocoa

No matter the season, hot chocolate is one of my favorite indulgent treats. Our Frozen Hot Chocolate with Matcha Cocoa has all the flavors of chocolate but with a twist that is a delicious and energizing blend of Grade A Matcha with Cocoa Rouge Unsweetened Cocoa Powder.

What is Frozen Hot Chocolate?

Mmm… I love frozen hot chocolate.  Similar to a chocolate milkshake but with a smooth creaminess and more complex flavors.

We love our Vitamix, it blends up everything to a lovely frothy texture that is similar to a frappe.

You can also heat this recipe up and serve it hot.  Just skip the ice and stir all your ingredients into a low simmer in a small saucepan.

I love chocolate and creating recipes with it, like our S’mores Mocha Latte or everyday Creamy Hot Chocolate recipe.

Easy Gourmet Hot Chocolate

This recipe tastes like a gourmet specialty drink you would find in a luxurious tea house.  The Matcha Cocoa blends together with the rich chocolate flavors and creaminess of the milk perfectly. 

Fun Topping Ideas:

  • Peppermint candies chopped
  • Cinnamon
  • Chocolate curls
  • Sprinkles
  • Crushed cookies
  • Fresh Whipped Cream
  • Cardamom
  • Caramel Syrup

 3 tbsp Matcha Cocoa delicious and energizing blend of Grade A Matcha with Cocoa Rouge Unsweetened Cocoa Powder from iconic Bay Area-based Guittard Chocolate Company.
 ¾ cup Milk – We prefer Heavy Cream or !/2 and 1/2
 1 cup Ice
 1 tbsp Chocolate Syrup
 1 Large Scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream
 Whipped Cream
 Toppings of Choice

Combine matcha cocoa, milk, ice, and ice cream into a blender.

Blend until smooth.

Pour into a mug and add a large dollop of whipped cream. Sprinkle with cocoa powder, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, or any desired toppings. Serve and enjoy!
