This is one of those easy recipes that you can make the day before, and warm up in your CrockPot.  An hour before your guests arrive, set the heat to low and allow this mixture to gently come to temperature. Make sure you stir frequently.Â

Milk Alternatives for Hot Chocolate
We know that a lot of you are looking for milk alternatives for hot chocolate and here are a few that we enjoy:

Creamy Hot Chocolate
In a bowl, combine all of your dry ingredients and whisk them together.
Add your milk and 1/2 and 1/2 and whisk constantly as you bring your heat up to medium-low heat. You don't want this to boil, because the milk will begin to stick and you risk getting clumpy. Just keep string until you get a nice steam rising from your hot chocolate.
Then remove from heat and pour into your cups. Then top with your favorite toppings.
