Sometimes you want something sweet… AND something sassy.  Our Boozy Coffee Caramel Sauce Recipe meets that challenge!

When our friends at Cask & Kettle challenged US to create a whole new recipe with some of their alcoholic hot cocktail pods, we dove right in!

After some serious taste testing, we came up with a few boozy recipes that went beyond the mug.

Today’s Boozy Coffee Caramel Sauce recipe is great over ice cream, waffles, spread on toast, or simply enjoyed with a spoon!

So if you are looking for a fun gift to make for your friends, check this out and tag us on Instagram with your photos!

I know you are excited to get to the Caramel Sauce Recipe, but I wanted to show you which pan we use because using the right pan in this recipe is important.

You want a heavy bottom pan that’s a little bigger than you thought you would need.  Because you want the sugar to heat evenly, and you are going to be whisking constantly, you want it to be deep and heavy.

Our Favorite Deep Heavy Pot:

Kitchen Aid 3-Ply Stainless Steel Stainless Stee Dutch Oven

Experiment with and discover new flavors and techniques when cooking with the kitchenaid 3-ply base stainless steel casserole, designed with an extra thick layer of heat-conducting aluminum to eliminate hot spots by distributing heat evenly from edge to edge. Heavy-gauge stainless steel pot features a heavy bottom base for lasting durability and has dual-riveted handles for a firm, confident grip when moving around the kitchen. Tempered glass lid helps to lock in heat for rich and textured flavor. Curious cooks can investigate a wider range of recipes in the broiler and oven, where cookware is safe to 500°f, 350°f with lid

What are Hot Cocktail Pods?

Recently we introduced you to our favorite new product, Cask & Kettle Hot Cocktail pods. They are essentially Keurig pods that have alcoholic cocktails that just need hot water.

Our friends at Cask & Kettle sent us their whole line of cocktail pods to try and come up with new recipes.

Not only did we come up with our Spiked Apple Slushie recipe, but then we made our Tipsy Apple Compote, a batch of brownies that turned into something more like a luscious chocolate spread and didn’t make it to our recipe list, AND this caramel sauce recipe!

Not to mention, we had to try all of these AMAZING coffee cocktails out… a few times.  It was hard work.

But we would gladly do it again for our friends at Cask & Kettle!

 1 cup Brown sugar
 ½ stick Salted butter
 ½ cup Heavy Cream
 1 tsp Vanilla extract
 ½ tsp Ground Cinnamon
 1 pinch Salt
For Boozy Coffee Caramel
1 Cask & Kettle Hot Blonde Cocktail Pod – Brewed OR
 6 oz strong espresso
 1 Kahlua
 ¼ cup vodka
 1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp Nutmeg – grated or ground
 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon

This is one of my favorite recipes to make big batches of and give to friends and family. Everyone loves it. So if you want to make big batches, double or triple the ingredients!

In a large heavy saucepan, over medium heat, add in your butter, cream, and sugar let it start to bubble up and turn a light golden color. This brings out the buttery taste. Stirring constantly, carefully add in your vanilla and salt and mix it up fully and allow that to start to melt together.

2

Keep stirring for 15 minutes, don't let it clump up. Your mixture will turn a beautiful caramel brown as it starts to thicken. Keep the heat low, resist turning it up to rush the time. If the heat is too high, the sugar will burn.

You want your mixture to get to a nice medium thickness. It will get thicker once it cools.

Note: If you want it thinner, use Half & Half instead of Heavy Cream.

3

Carefully pour your caramel sauce into small sterilized pint jars and allow to cool before putting in the refrigerator for up to three weeks. Warm before serving!

Simply brew one pod and once your caramel starts to thicken, add in your coffee cocktail and stir for 5 more minutes until it thickens. It's so delicious!
