Hey everyone!  I have a quick recipe for you and it’s going to be used in a couple upcoming recipes.  Our homemade peace sauce recipe is so easy that you’ll be making peach tea or Bellinis for brunch for your friends and family all the time!

Peaches are one of my favorite fruits. When I was little, I used to go picking with my family and all summer my Gram and I would be preserving peaches to use for the rest of the year. But peaches get bruised easily and can get soft without warning.  So as a Mom of 5, I needed to find a way to quickly use up the fruit that could go bad or look too ugly for my family.

Peach Puree

This is one of our more versatile recipes because not only can you use it as a syrup for your drinks, ice cream, or even pancakes, but you can swap out the fruit!

You can use nectarines, strawberries, blueberries, even raspberries and still have a great puree that you can use in your recipes.

Peeling Peaches

You can peel peaches either by hand peeling with a knife ( This is how I do them)  or by dipping the peaches in a pot of boiling water and then sliding them into ice water. The peels then slide off fairly easily.

However, I grew up with simply sliding a pairing knife lightly under the skins at the top and pulling down to peel off the skin. It’s a faster method for me to then pit and slice the peaches.

This recipe is so easy to double and make ahead for all your recipes. What I love about this recipe is that it can be made ahead of time and put in the refrigerator until I’m ready to use it.  It’s not overly sweet, so you can use it in so many different ways.

Tip: Local peaches that are recently picked have the best flavor and don’t need as much sugar. So try to get peaches when they are in season and taste them before you make them into your recipes.
