I LOVE homemade cranberry relish with my holiday meals. It’s that perfect sweet and tart combination that breaks up the meal.  Yummm!

I am also one of those crazy people who loves canned cranberry sauce. It’s soo good.  But this recipe is even better than canned. 

The oral use of cannabis for stress and anxiety has been around since 2000 BCE! The holidays can be a very stressful time for many people, especially if you are in charge of making holiday meals. CBD has been shown to consistently reduce anxiety. The stress-reducing properties of CBD works with the endocannabinoid system to calm your mind and body.  

What makes this recipe more spectacular is the use of oranges and cranberries with their own uplifting terpenes.

Together, this makes for a joyful recipe sure to give you a little more holiday spirit.

A Word About Cooking With CBD

You can certainly add CBD butter and tinctures to your recipes. However, the longer that you cook the cbd oils, the more that it breaks down. This is why we suggest that you add it as a final touch at the end of your recipes. Mixing with foods will dilute the strength, but you will still get many of the same amazing properties with CBD layering. 

I suggest that you use low temps so that the terpenes stay intact.

Most CBD tinctures are made with olive oil or coconut oil, which actually cooks and blends very well.  

Can You Can This?

I love canning everything in my Instant Pot. This recipe is pretty small, but if you double it and just add the CBD to the jars – 1-2 droppers per jar, you could easily can this recipe and give it out as adorable gifts!

Holiday CBD Cranberry Sauce Recipe

This is one of my favorite holiday recipes. I can make it a few days ahead of time and bring it out nice and cool for the big day.  I love using hemp CBD tinctures because they are smooth and easy to use and don't have a “weedy” aftertaste.  

The longer you cook down the juices, the thicker it will become. So feel free to add a little more time if you like it that way.

 12 oz whole cranberries
 1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
 ½ cup white raw sugar
 ½ cup brown sugar
 1-2 pinches of cinnamon ( depends on your tastes )

In a medium-sized sauce pan add all of your ingredients EXCEPT the CBD oil. Slowly stirring for about 10 minutes or until the cranberries start to pop.

Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.

Add your CBD oil once the sauce has started to cool and thicken, stirring it through.

Then pour it all into your serving bowl and refrigerate before serving.
