Everyone is different, and different CBD oils each have their own timeline. But generally, it takes about 30 minutes before it begins to have an effect. When choosing a CBD product, know that each type of CBD has a different absorption rate.
The fastest of all of the methods, vaping works in a few minutes for most people. Just make sure that the vape oil and device that you use are good quality, with no PEG’s. Vaping isn't for everyone. Some people have breathing issues that prevent them from vaping. The timing for vaping is 5-10 minutes.
Sublingual Oils or Tinctures:
CBD in the oil form, taken as a few drops under the tongue is one of the fastest ways to use CBD. Sublingually, the CBD is rapidly absorbed without passing through the digestive tract. This is one of the fastest ways to get relief, working in 15-25 minutes for most people. Tinctures come in different flavors and strengths. Tinctures can also be added to drinks and food.
Rubs or Salves:
Topical CBD rubs, applied right to the skin take a little longer to work, but is excellent for going right to where you need relief. CBD salves diffuse through the lipids in your skin and begin to work right away in that area. This is great for inflammation or stiff joints. Time: 45 minutes
Edibles or Capsules:
Edibles or capsules are best for maintenance, a regular routine of CBD ingestion is a great way to work towards your health goals. But it takes the longest to feel the effects. CBD passes through the digestive tract and liver, where it is broken down and filtered through the body through the bloodstream.
Depending on what you are using it for, results and the time it takes to begin working can and will vary from person to person. Higher doses of CBD will have a stronger effect. But CBD shouldn’t make you feel drugged, high, or groggy.
Everyone will have their own genetic composition, so it works differently in each of us. Things like your age, weight, and metabolism will affect how long it takes. Give it time and stick with it.
