CBD for Anxiety
If you have ever had a panic attack, you know it’s a feeling you will never forget. Your heart is beating so fast that it feels like it could burst at any second. You are trying to breathe, but the air isn’t enough. All you want is to feel safe and okay, but that’s not possible.

As of 2018, anxiety has become the most common form of mental illness in the United States. This statistic surpasses depression. Although, many people with an Anxiety disorder also develop depression as well. Sadly, most people do not receive proper treatment.
Anxiety and panic attacks aren’t as simple as fearing the unknown, or a big job. It’s an actual chemical imbalance that has driven people to extremes trying to find a way to live normally.

Many medical doctors are quick to prescribe anti-anxiety drugs, some with very harmful side-effects. Sometimes overlooking simple medical issues when a patient comes in complaining of chest pain or dizziness.
Still, many people do see some reduction in their symptoms with anti-anxiety medications.
How does CBD Oil work for anxiety?

Anxiety and Depression can sometimes be treated with medications that block the reabsorption of serotonin in the brain. This makes more serotonin available to use when you are stressed.

CBD is thought to boost that serotonin through the brain and helps you to feel better fast.
It is believed, that it might even help to regenerate neurons and heal your brain by stimulating the brain to produce new neurons in the hippocampus. This regrowth has been shown to reduce anxiety and depression. However, much more research is needed to be sure.

One test published in Neuropsychopharmacology (1) in 2011, 24 people diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) were given either CBD or a placebo after which they were asked to perform a simulated public speaking test. According to the trial, just some of CBD’s effects on anxiety included “significantly reduced anxiety, cognitive impairment, and discomfort in their speech performance, and significantly decreased alert in their anticipatory speech.
The placebo group presented higher anxiety, cognitive impairment, discomfort, and alert levels when compared with the control group.”
What CBD should I use for anxiety?
There are many ways to use CBD. However, you should be sure that if you are trying to treat anxiety or depression, your product contains no THC or is very low in the ratio. THC has psychoactive chemicals that can aggravate anxiety and make it worse.
For anxiety, you should seek out a hemp-based CBD that contains little or no THC. Hemp plants naturally produce high quantities of CBD and negligible levels of THC.
How much should I take?
Always start with a minimal amount. You can take it slow and work your way up to where you feel the most comfortable. You don’t want this to interfere with your life and usual activities.
Edibles do work but usually take 30-45 minutes to take effect and last about an hour or more, depending on your metabolism.
If you are having a panic attack, using a CBD pen vape will quickly inhibit the serotonin absorption, and you will feel better faster. This will also help the body aches and tension that many people have with anxiety.
Regular use will help to regulate your brain and can help with PTSD and panic attacks.

- Third party lab testing – Look for the Certificate of Analysis and a Certificate of Quality Assurance confirmed by third-party labs
- Consistency –Make sure the hemp comes from the same strain and goes through the same extraction process
- Pharmaceutical grade – Look for products manufactured in a GMP-certified facility that conforms to FDA guidelines.
Is this legal?
Even though CBD made from cannabis is still illegal because it contains THC and is oil is legal in only 8 states.
Hemp CBD is legal almost everywhere in the world and legal in all 50 states.
