What's new in 2019 for us?
WE ARE BUILDING A HOUSE!
This is the year that we stop daydreaming about building a farmhouse in the country and actually bought the land and started building. There was so much to do to get ready for this big adventure. And I HATE packing and moving. But when we get to move into our new place, I know it will all be worth it.
I am so excited to share with you all that we are in the process of building a new house and this spring my new garden! I am so ready to spread out and make something new and wonderful.
But first… the moving.

Do you know how to drive this??
As many of you know, we were in the Seattle area for a while. I love Seattle, and I love being a part of the PNW. But our friends and family were all back in Maryland and several times a year we were hopping on a plane and coming back to Baltimore for all the big life events. And each time we headed to the airport to go back to Seattle, my daughter and Hubby each had this sad face. They love Maryland and I know that both of them were staying in Washington for me.

Yes… it was raining when we moved. I won't miss the crazy rain.
So we sold our house in WA. and packed up everything ( well, mostly everything… thanks Marie Kondo for making me think twice about everything I packed) and we headed back to the East coast to start building our dream home. Our Seattle agent, Stacy Hecht kicked butt to sell our house for a great price. And boy are we glad we moved before the market really started slowing down and going backward!
One of the first things we needed to do was find land and a custom home builder to work with. Thankfully we have a wonderful real estate agent – Richard Waxman who handled EVERYTHING for us from across the country while we were still in Washington.
Time to move forward!
So after we found the land, we started working with our new builder. John, the owner of JMB Homes has been a dream to work with. He listened closely to all of our dreams and concerns and went to work helping us to design our dream home.

I think I brought the Seattle rain with us.
After breaking ground, things have been moving along quickly. And we will be bringing you updates as they come along. We are so excited to share this crazy adventure with you.

So much room to grow!
We have a basement!
Until the house is built, we have a small townhouse. Everything is still in boxes except the bare basics. I can't wait to get moved into the new house and get started with the decorating!
Yay! Congrats! How exciting! 😊
Thanks! Our fur kids can’t wait to run in the big yard!
Congratulations! I’m glad you are able to build your dream home! I’m also glad you got to work with two great Realtors, I’m a Realtor and I like hearing happy stories about buying and selling homes! Good luck with the build I’ll be looking for pictures of the finished product!
