What to wear in the PNW for the Holidays

The winter holidays are here. Time for Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s Eve! It’s this time of year that we head to our closets and try to put on our best and head to cocktail parties and family gatherings.

While it’s hard to pass up the joy at the smell of cinnamon cookies or to keep walking when you hear the fire crackling, figuring out what to wear can be a holiday nightmare and cause winter dread.

Easy Comfort- style at family gatherings

Making time for friends and family during the holidays is stressful enough! But the expectation of looking like it is fashion week while you are having lunch with those you love can be taxing. When making time for special gatherings, easy comfort is best. And what is more comfortable than a fun holiday sweater? Now, not every holiday sweater labeled holiday must be, ugly.

Have a little fun with your sweater outfit! Ladies, enjoy your comfy black leggings and silly socks, lift your hair into a messy bun, and enjoy the day!

Glitter is gold at the holiday parties

You’ve waited all year to sparkle; now you are totally allowed shine! Here are the basics of glamorous and still classy- go for the jewel tone colors, like black, Bordeaux, teal or a creamy beige. Mix in kitten heels, curl your hair or lift it into a bun with shiny earrings! Ta-Da!

And what about the little red dress? Christmas is the perfect time to try out that ruby red holiday color. These dresses look gorgeous with gold or black heels.
Keep your makeup light in golden tones and keep your hair easy and light.

Warmth and Classy is the game at Holiday markets

Here in Seattle, we have so many wonderful outdoor market stands filled with holiday decorations, gifts, and cheer. Holiday markets attract hundreds of people looking for a little holiday spirit and joy.

What to wear? The goal is to keep warm. Layer! Layer! Layer! We gals of the Pacific Northwest know the importance of waterproof boots. We love them with our thick socks or boot covers, our black leggings or even skinny jeans, and a warm winter sweater. We are still scarf gals here and we love matching them with gloves.

It’s a great time to be a kid!

Tis the season to embrace the sparkle, grab a tiara, and dance with the sugar plum fairies. No more boring velvet dresses for modern girls. Now they have so many adorable options to choose from.

2017’s holiday wear for children embraces fantasy and youth. Layer your little girl up in sparkles and fun no matter where she’s off to.

This year let’s celebrate all of the good things that have happened, hold our loved ones and friends closer, and hope for a fantastic 2018!
