My Next Fifteen

Here’s the Wow story of the day. Fellow blogger, Victoria has a new blog about her life and this amazing adventure she’s on. At first I was pretty sure she was going to say she and her husband were trust fund babies living the hippie life, however read til the end to see how I was surprised.

Two months ago, I finished hiking the Appalachian Trail. For almost six months, I walked, climbed, shimmied, and danced along a trail that measures 2,189.2 miles from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mount Katahdin in Maine. I pushed my mind and my body further than I ever had in my life. I experienced absolute sheer joy and dreadful agony. There were times I wanted to throw in the towel, hike back down the mountain I had just climbed, and quit. But I didn’t. I kept going, and Charlie followed me.

Charlie is my husband, and he followed me, literally, every step of the way. He refused to hike ahead even though he is a faster hiker because he was worried that I might get hurt, or we would somehow lose each other. There were days that we talked, and there were days that we barely said a word. We played…
