  1. Great list! I’ve already read 1,3,4,5 and 7 – and they were all great. Gone Girl was riveting. And Secret Life of Bees, as well as The Help, are to me present-day classics and must-reads. I’m not even a dog person but The Art of Racing in the Rain was really touching.
